Answer:

Myopia ---> Unable to see distant objects (short sitedness). Concave lens

Hypermetropia---> unable to see near object (long sitedness). Convex lens

Presbyopia---> An eye that suffers from myopia as well as from hypermetropia is said to suffer from presbyopia. A person with this defect cannot see objects distinctly placed at any distance from him. To correct this defect, a person is prescribed bifocal lens that has both types of lenses convex and concave.

Astigmatism--->Astigmatism can be corrected with contact lenses, glasses, refractive laser surgery and Implantable contact lenses. Astigmatism is caused by an unevenly shaped cornea like a rugby ball. The uneven shape causes the rays of light to focus on two points on the retina, causing distortion and blurring of images.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

Shortsightedness is corrected using a concave (curved inwards) lens which is placed in front of a myopic eye, moving the image back to the retina and making it clearer. Longsightedness is corrected using a convex (outward facing) lens.
