Private Quelch was actually an intelligent guy. The incident of the muzzle velocity of the rifle and the recognition of the North American Harvard Trainer tells us so. He was a hard working young man and was miraculously tireless. He always helped his co- cadets. But he never gave respect to his officers and always interrupted in their lectures and was over confident. This is the main reason which led him to handle the cookhouse duties. The moral that we can learn from Private Quelch 's life is that never be so over confident and unlike him we should give more respect to our elders and must be well disciplined. We should also follow his positive traits too like helping others and hard work.
