It was raining incessantly and the scorpion must have probably looked for some dry place to stay and it ended up in the house of the narrator. Stung by the scorpion, the mother had to suffer and be in a lot of pain. But after all the efforts by everyone to subdue and remove the poison and she became alright, she only expressed relief and thank God that it was her who had to suffer the sting and not her children.
