The Varna or Caste system is mentioned in 10th Mandala of Rig Veda, an important scripture of Aryans. The caste system was flexible during the Rig Vedic period and became rigid during the later vedic age. The Brahmans and Kshatriyas became powerful and made the Vaishas to pay tribute and Shudras to serve them.

The Caste system was fallowed by later dynasties of India and is being practiced in present day as well. we see today marriages are arranged on the basis of caste and Shudras now Dalits are still being discriminated.
