Alice Walker in her poem “At Thirty-Nine” tells about her feelings for her father who is not more in the world. She misses his teachings, values and his presence after his death. She remembers that her father was the one who taught her how he used to spend money wisely and save them when he was young. She also wanted to save money so that she would not face any problems in her future. Her father too had opened a savings account in High School and likewise, she also opened one.
