Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar(popularly known as doctor Bhimrao Ambedkar)was born on April 14th 1891 in Mhow, now in Madhya Pradesh. He is best known as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and one of the makers of modern Indian nation. Encouraged by the Maharaja of Baroda, he went to Columbia University, New York, where he did his master’s thesis on the caste system and doctoral work on British Finance in India. He was a social reformer who fought for the rights of people from the different section of the society. He was awarded ‘Bharat Ratna’ in 1991.
