1. The non-cooperation movement was withdrawn because of the chauri chaura incident. Although he had stopped the national revolt single-handedly , on 10 March, 1992, Gandhi was arrested. On 18 March 1992, he was imprisoned for six years for publishing seditious materials.

2. Print culture assisted the growth of nationalism in India in the following ways:

• They reported on colonial misrule and encouraged nationalist activities.
• These helped in spreading the message of nationalism to the majority of the Indian masses.
• Many vernacular newspapers began to be published in India, carried nationalist feelings. They reported on colonial misrule and encouraged nationalist activities. 1. Non cooperation was taking a violent turn. An incident at chauri chaura took place where 22 policemen were killed due to clash between people and police. Thus Gandhi had to withraw the movement.

2. print culture opened up a new way of looking towards things. People started questioning the things which they felt were wrong. Slowly, they started questioning the opressive rulers and powers and hence nationalism developed through print culture.

3. The crown of germania has oak leaves on it which signifies heroism.
