Answer:

James Herriot's encounter with Mrs Pumphrey and Tricki made him expect a call for help. He was sure that the extra diet and no physical activity would soon put Tricki's health in danger. And just as anticipated, Mrs Pumphrey called the vet a few days afterwards.

Question -

What made james herriot except a call from mrs pumphrey?

Answer -

Mrs. Pumphrey used to give more food to Triki. The dog Triki was also greedy and didn't refuse the food given by her mistress. When Herriot saw Triki the first time he knew that he will get a call from Mrs. Pumphrey soon. And as she was a rich lady and loved her dog. She fed the dog much and when the dog didn't move due to laziness she thought that her dog was suffering from malnutrition and gave her chocolates, cakes, etc. Soon Tricki's condition was so bad that she had to call Herriot and send Tricki for treatment.

The dog ate all the things gave by her mistress. Tricki did not do any exercise and soon became too fat and was not able to walk properly.
