In 1774, The English Parliament assumed powers to make laws for the American States but the people of those states did not vote for the Parliament.

The Parliament often passed laws that favoured English traders and factories at the cost of the people of the colonies.

American people weren't given any role in representation.

Hence, The American colonies therefore raised the slogan 'No Taxation Without Representation'.

Representatives from all colonies except Georgia met in protest at a Congress held in Philadelphia. They requested King George ||| to restore the colonies their previous rights.
