The grandmother was a very religious and traditional lady . When the author used to come back from school she used to ask him about what the teachers has taught him . The author told English word and little things of western science and learning , the law of gravity, the world being round etc . She being a religious women was very distressed that there was no teaching about God and the scriptures . She was very disturbed about the music lessons in the school as according to her music is not meant for gentle folk. All of this made her unhappy about the English school .
