what made the villagers to help Mrs packletide Shoot The Tiger ?how did they do this.

Packletide offered thousand rupees to the villagers if they helped her to hunt the tiger without much exertion. At that time thousand rupees was a big amount. So they were tempted by this. They built a platform for Packletide to hunt and tied a cheap goat within an easy range of the tiger.
