What makes ram not suitable for persistent storage?

By persistent storage we mean that the data can be stored for future use and as RAM is a non-volatile memory it is unable to save any data after the power is turned off.

However there are also non-volatile RAMS available like NAND FLASH which is way more expensive than normal RAMS and are usually used in business enterprises where losing data means losing loads of money.
