Heya dear
Steps to create a compost pit:
1. Make a compost bin or compost pile (in the ground).
2. Fill this bin with green stuff such as leaves, grass, vegetable scraps etc. and brown stuff such as autumn leaves, dead plants. Other items like cotton bags, paper bags etc can also be incorporated. The green stuff provides nitrogen to the contents and thus maintain a temperature suitable for composting.
3. Add water to the contents of the bin and sprinkle little bit of soil on it.
4. Mix the contents so that they come in contact with each other. Turn it once in a week.
5. Harvest your compost after few weeks.
I hope this help u
As compost is made from organic matter produced by natural decomposition of materials like yard trimmings, wood chips, paper products and other materials its addition to soil supplies nutrients that are essential for plant growth.
