The balanced reaction for the decomposition of copper carbonate would be:

CuCO3 → CuO + CO2

1 mole of copper carbonate gives 1 mole of copper oxide

=> 123.5 g of copper carbonate gives 79.5 g of copper oxide.

Therefore, 12.35 g of copper carbonate will give 7.95 g of copper oxide
