What mass of NO2 will be formed when 3.5g of nitrogen is mixed with 20g of oxygen? Which law of chemical combination will govern your answer?

Chemical Reaction:

N₂ (g) + 2O₂ (g) -----> 2NO₂ (g)

By Gay-Lussac's Law of Combining Volumes,

1 volume of Nitrogen need 2 volumes of Oxygen to burn to produce 2 volumes of Nitrogen Dioxide.

Given Mass of Nitrogen = 3.5 g

Mass of Nitrogen Dioxide formed = (3.5*2) g

= 7 g
