The various measures that I would suggest to farmer for conserving water for cultivation are as follows :

(1) Use of modern irrigation system.(i.e. drip irrigation system and sprinkler system).

MEASURES SUGGESTED TO FARMERS FOR WATER CONSVERATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF CULTIVATION:

• Drip irrigation: In this method, water is delivered directly to plant root reducing the evaporation.

• Capturing and Storing Water: Creating the ponds by their own for capturing the rain water so that it can be used throughout the year .

• Irrigation Scheduling: This method involves the water management which includes the water quantity and when to be used (duration) .

• Drought tolerance Crop: Growing the crop which needs very low water content, example olives, tepary beans.

• Dry Farming: This process rely on soil moisture. Special tilling process and careful 'attention' to 'microclimates' are essential.

• Rotational Grazing: This process involves movement of livestock to field for best Pasture regrowth .

• Compost and Mulch: It has special soil structure increasing the water holding capacity.

• Cover Crops: Protects the soil by preventing the soil erosion and compaction .

• Conservation tillage: By using the specialised plows untill the soil maintain the 30% 'vegetative crop residue' on surface .

• Going Organic: 'Organic matter' and 'microbial content' serves as sponge for delivering the water to plant, this can recharge the groundwater supplies up to '20' percent.
