The story gives us the message that no matter how many hardships come in our life, we should stand up to it and face it bravely and happily. The two boys are selfless in trying to cure their ailing sister and do different odd jobs to save money for her treatment. It is hard for them as children but still they do it with a smiling face.

Appearance are deceptive
The figures of the two boys may make us think that they are thieves or street urchins but even the narrator or the reader can not guess their gentlemen characters .Their love for their sister LUCIA had made them to remain in this way because to look keen they must buy new dresses . so they saved money for their sisters treatment. Since she is the only living member of their family , they had lost both their parents in the war
PLEASE MARK AS BRAINLIEST
