The poet has tried to focus on some flaws in human
character. Through the character of nightingale the poet has tried to bring to
light the fact that mere talent is not sufficient to live successfully in a
world that is also inhabited by people like cunning frogs. In the poem we see
the very talented nightingale falling a prey to his trap because of her
inexperience. So, the poem aims at teaching the readers the valuable lesson of
giving due importance of wisdom, smartness along with being exceptionally
talented. If there is wisdom and smartness along with the talent, then the
heartless and shrewd people like the frog won’t be able to exploit you.
