The wheel of bicycle is rotating on its axle and also moving forward in straight lines path. So, bicycle on a straight road has two types of motion : rotational and rectilinear motion.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

* Rectilinear motion

Rectilinear motion is another name for straight-line motion. This type of motion describes the movement of a particle or a body. A body is said to experience rectilinear motion if any two particles of the body travel the same distance along two parallel straight lines.

The motion of the wheel of a cycle is a circular motion.

Circular motion: Circular motion is a movement of an object along the circumference of a circle or rotation along a circular path.
