Three basic conditions are there for the flow of electric current.

The loop where current passes must be closed.

There must be some potential difference in the circuit.

The medium through which current flows should be conductor(but at higher temp. current flows through semiconductor).

Apart from this we need power sources and in circuit some value of resistance should be present.
