pls mark it if you like

Let 'a' be added to 1x to make it equal to x.1x+a=xa=x-1xa=x2-1xUsing a2-b2 = a-ba+ba= x-1x+1xHence, x-1x+1x must be added to 1x to make it equal to x.

\frac{x^{2}-1 }{x} must be added to 1/x to make it equal to x.

Given

We are given 1/x and x

To find

What must be added to 1/x to make it equal to x?

Solution

Let us take the number to be added as 'a'

when 'a' is added to \frac{1}{x} the result must be x

Hence the equation will be \frac{1}{x} + a = x

Therefore we will get the equation for 'a' as x - \frac{1}{x}

By solving the equation we will get \frac{x^{2} - 1 }{x}

Thus the value of 'a' will be \frac{x^{2} - 1}{x}

Therefore \frac{x^{2} -1 }{x} must be added to \frac{1}{x} to make it equal to x
