divide x^3-3x^2-12x+19 by x^2+x-6
multiple x^2 with x so that you can get x^3
which is = x^3 + x^2 - 6x
then change the sign = -x^3 - x^2 + 6x
now cancel x^3 and
sum up the numbers , you will be getting
-4x^2 -6x +19
multiple the divisor with -4
-4x^2 - 4x + 24 , Change the signs
+4x^2 +4x -24 , +4x^2 & -4x^2 will be cancelled
leaving with -2x -5

this looks a bit mess so just try on a sheet of paper to understand better and maths is all about doing...!
