what must be subtracted from from each of term of the ratio 3:2. so, that the ratio becomes 2:5 ?

Let x be subtracted

so,

3-x/2-x=2/5

5(3-x)=2(2-x)

15-5x=4-2x

15-4=-2x+5x

11=3x

x=11/3
