Let

The other added number =x

So

We get equ

 \frac{ -7 }{2} + x = \frac{1}{24}

x = \frac{1}{24} + \frac{7}{2}

x = \frac{1 + 84}{24}

x = \frac{85}{24}

So 85/24 must be added to - 7/2 to get 1/24

As u said it is - 7/12

I m solving it with that also

-7/12 + x =1/24

X=1/24+ 7/12

X=(1+14)24

X=15/24

X=5/8

x=1/24+7/2
