Let x be the number

\longmapsto \sf - \frac{5}{8} + x = - \frac{5}{9} \\

\longmapsto \sf x = - \frac{5}{9} + \frac{5}{8} \\

\longmapsto \sf \frac{ - 40 + 45}{72} \\

\longmapsto \sf \frac{5}{72} \\

SOLUTION

Let, the number to be added be X

ATQ,

-5/8+X = -5/9

or X = -5/9+5/8

= (-40+45) /72

=5/72
