Hi Sakshi,

Always remember such questions are just little tricky and thats it.

Now lets look at this question...

Observe the word decreased by 7% of itself means 7% of the number is to be subtracted from same number.

x - 7%of x
x- (7/100)x
x(100-7)/100
93x/100

Now this is equal to given value 16.74

93x/100=16.74
x=1674/93
x= 18
is the required number.
