Let the no. To be added be x
7+x/5+x = 5/4
By cross multiplication:
5(5+x)=4(7+x)
25+5x=28+4x
Therefore x=3....

let the number be added is x
Then (7+x)/(5+x)=5/4
or 28+4x=25+5x
or x=3
So, 3 will be added,then 7:5 become 5:4
