Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number be x

then,

( \frac{1}{2}  +  \frac{1}{3}  +  \frac{1}{5} ) + x = 3 \\ ( \frac{15 + 10 + 6}{30} ) + x = 3 \\ ( \frac{31}{30} ) + x = 3 \\ x = 3 -  \frac{31}{30}  \\ x =  \frac{90 - 31}{30}  \\ x =  \frac{59}{30}

Answer:

Let the numner to be 'x'

then 1/2+1/3+1/5+x

taking L.C.M

(15+10+6+30x)/30=3

(31+30x)=30*3

31+30x=90-31

30x=59

x=59/30

x=1.9666

so,the number should be added to get 3

we can take 1.9666as approximately 2

1/2+1/3+1/5+2

0.5+0.3+0.2+2=3

Even if we you take 1.9666you will get 2.9666 which is approximately 3.
