Let the number be x.

EQN :-

(-3/5) - x = 1

-x = 1 + 3/5

-x = (5 + 3)/5

-x = 8/5

x = -8/5

Checking:-

(-3/5) - (-8/5)

= (-3/5) + 8/5

= (-3 + 8)/5

= 5/5

= 1LHS = RHS = 1

So, the correct answer is -8/5.
