Let the required number = x

\frac{-8}{15} - x =  \frac{-5}{6}

\frac{8}{15} + x =  \frac{5}{6}

⇒  x =  \frac{5}{6} - \frac{8}{15} = \frac{25 - 16}{30} = \frac{9}{30} = \frac{3}{10}
