The answer is 25%.

It is simple, they ask you to fill in the gap in this following sentence:

What number should go in the space?

Multiplying by 1.25 is the same as increasing by _____%.

An easy way to work this type of question out is to just find the 1.25 in the statement. So you will find 25. Which is then your overall percentage, 25%.

Note: Don't use this method for all of these questions. Increasing, you will find the 1.25 in your answer. However, if they ask you to decrease, it is a completely different story. For example:

What number should go in the space?

Multiplying by 0.25 is the same as decreasing by _____%.

You will notice that instead of using 1.25, this question uses 0.25. For decreasing, an easy way to work all these questions out is to simply subtract 25 from 100. You will get 75. So your answer will be 75% for this question.

Hope that Helps! :)
