What opinion do you form of the doctor in the story the snake and the mirror?

The doctor is a lazy person who wants to live a comfortable life by marrying a well settled doctor instead of working hard on his practice.   He is proud of his appearance and keeps admiring himself in the mirror.   He is a coward who runs away from his room just because of a snake instead of trying to control the creature.
