The poet used crow, which is misfortune and hemlock tree, which is a poisonous plant.

Birds like parrot , sparrow, nightingale etc. are usually used in poems but in the poem "Dust of snow", Robert Frost has presented a crow which is rare.

A crow, when we see it or hear about it, it reminds us about misfortune, evilshow things through it's ugliness and it's harsh voice.

When we come back to the hemlock tree, it is a poisonous plant with white flowers.
