Broadly there are no licences required for general products except a very few in negative lists life defence petroleum etc.
For rest ,there are certain regulatory bodies set up by Government which require , products to be registered and follow the laid down guidelines

For making a products or manufacturing a products you simply need only the business and tax registration.
if you products fall under the VAT then first of all just applied for the VAT/CST Registration then open the bank account on the firm name on the basis of VAT/CST Certificate.
Now making a products is treated as mfg so excise registration may be applicable. apart from this if you deal with the food realted products then need Food licens also.
Conclusion - most of the products fall under the VAT/CST so in the starting just go for it then on later stage apply for the another one.
