In Greek mythology, Perseus is an important figure and a son of God. He was a warrior, a hero. Perseus was born to Danae, who was impregnated by Zeus, in the form of a golden shower.
Perseus performed many acts of heroism using his special skills. Among these, the most famous were the beheading of the snake-headed gorgon – Medusa and rescue of Andromeda from a ferocious sea monster.
Perseus was the founder of the city of Peloponnesia of Mycenae, which was home to Agamemnon, who lead the Greek forces in the Trojan war.
