Answer:

I worked hard to overcome my difficulty in learning Hindi and conquered the fear of failing in the subject.

Explanation:

I was a fourth grader when my family relocated to Gujarat from Chennai. The thought of a new state, new school and new people terrified me. Although, one fear topped them all- the fear of learning a new language in order to survive in the school for the forthcoming years.

I had been introduced only to the basics of Hindi in my previous school in Chennai. But in my new school, the Hindi classes were so advanced, and I would simply sit and stare at the teacher and the black board throughout my Hindi classes. I was given after-school-hours coaching to learn the language. Before long, my quarterly exams were up, and I ultimately failed in Hindi, due to lack of preparation and time. It was extremely embarrassing and discouraging as I had scored very good marks in all the other subjects.

I realized I had to dedicate more effort and time towards the subject. I spent extra hours studying the subject and my friends helped me a great deal in doing so. My hard work bore fruit and I topped in my half yearly Hindi examination. My parents and my teachers were extremely proud of me. I couldn’t be more thankful to my friends who helped me overcome my fear and fulfill an act of heroism.
