  • The thermometer should be kept upright not tilted.
  • Bulb should be surrounded from all the sides of the substance whose temperature has to be taken.
  • The bulb should not touch the container if the substance to be measured is in liquid form.

1 it should be kept vertical while reading

2 bulb of of the thermometer should be dip into the the liquid

3 bulb should not touch the surface of the container

4 do not dip stem of the thermometer in the liquid

5 read the temperature while it is dipped in the liquid 5 read the temperature by keeping your eyes at the level of Mercury
