let the marked price be 100x
after 10% discount the price will be 90x
to gain 20% the article should be sold at 600(120/100)=rs 720
so 90x=720
x=8
so marked price =100x= 8*100= rs 800

M. R. P=600
D=10%
S.P=600×100-10/100
=60×90/100
=6×9=54
C.P=S.P ×100/100+P
=54×100/100+20
=54×100/120
