What problem we will have in using a laboratory thermometer to measure our body temperature?

Well I can provide you not one but two reasons for that.

1.The range of the laboratory thermometer is very large. Generally from –10°C to 110°C, while the normal body temperature in humans is only 37°C.So these are not suitable to measure our body room temperature

2.Laboratory thermometers are designed to measure immediate temperature. As soon as these thermometers are removed or separated from the source of heat the reading changes. Medical thermometer which are used to measure our body temperature are designed to measure and stick on to the maximum temperature recorded so if they are separated from the source of heat (in this case a human body) then the reading does not changes and we can track our body temperature properly.

This is because of absence of kink in in a laboratory thermometer. think is used to hold the Mercury at its position,when the thermometer is separated from the source of heat.
