What problem would be faced if volume is chosen as fundamental quantity instead of length?

volume is cube of length , therefore if volume is chosen as a standard unit then dimensions of length would be V^1/3.
therefore the dimensions of simple physical quantities would be hard to describe such as speed , density etc,
But length is a more standard unit because cube of length gives volume thus length is a standard unit
