what problem would we face if we choosen volume as fundamental quantity instead of length?

Volume is a derived quantity.
Length cannot be derived from none of the other fundamental quantity. Derived quantities are derived from these fundamental quantities.
If we consider volume instead of length, dimensional formulas of every physical quantity will get change. Dimensional formula for length is ( L) while for volume id ( L³) ..
This change will effect every quantity derived from length, such as Velocity , speed etc..
