Installing transmission lines in any area comprise of two steps: Transmission tower erection and then laying out the lines on those towers.
Transmission tower erection: Firstly, all the parts of the tower are aggregated near the place where the tower has to be installed. One particular section of tower is assembled, and then if it is possible to get a crane at that place then the assembled section is lifted with the help of crane and is put in its place, otherwise the assemble section is lifted with the help of helicopters and is put in its place. In this way whole tower is erected section by section.
Laying out wires: If the area between two towers is somewhat plain, the wires are first laid onto ground and then lifted near towers with the help of cranes and fitted to towers with proper insulation. If the towers are on to different hills, the wires are laid with the help of helicopters. Sometimes an aerial rope-way is also created between two towers for better transport of goods.
