What programming languages are commonly used to make viruses?

For many viruses attacking the OS or some part of the OS like the network stack you end up with C/C++ and maybe some Assembly. But a lot of applications have scripting capabilitieswhich offer a more convenient way of writing a virus. E.g. with VB script, Python, Javascript or something else.
