what proof do we have about the revolution of the earth?

Either description is possible of course. But Kepler’s description that the Earth revolves on an ellipse with the Sun’s center of mass at one focus leads to a much easier theoretical description of the planetary motions than the alternative.

The heliocentric theory was proposed seriously at least as early as the time when Aristarchus lived. In Aristarchus time stellar parallax could not be measured, nor could the parallax of the Sun.
