1.universal adult franchise-every citizen of india above the age of 18 can vote to elect the representatives to the parliament or state legislature.

2.democratic republic- the constitution declares india to be democratic republicindia is democratic because the people choose representatives to elect their leader, you may call this a republic but hey, dictatorships are usually called something also.
