slope of speed time graph is given by

slope=v2-v1/t2-t1

or

slope=dv/dt

(if interval is very small)

we also know that

dv/dt=acceleration

and

v2-v1/t2-t1=acceleration

therefore slope of v-t graph gives acceleration.
