The 'describe' phase of an art critic is the basic description of the work of art without any judgement based on it's value.
The first thing that you do is describe the form of the art on whether it is a sculpture or a painting. It is basically what the art is all about.
In this stage you get to know about the medium used to make the sculpture or the painting or even if it is a minor art.
In this phase you will get to know about the basic elements in the medium that is used to make the work of art.
