The diary was an important part of Anne's life. For Anne, her diary was her best friend who would listen to her without any advises. 'I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a source of great comfort and support' is a comment Added by Anne on the first day of he writing. Anne usually wrote all the things she thought about everything in everyday life which helped her a lot in controlling her feelings. Anne did not want to show anyone her diary and did not want to lose her diary or get away from it. Writing a diary was a new and strange experience for her as she shared those feelings to her that actuallly no other person would like to hear about.

Anne used to feel lonely and upset always as she had no friend. She wanted to get all the burden and worries off her chest, hence she decides to keep a diary in which she could confide her secrets and treat it as a true friend.
