Plants play a very important role in the overall ecological system on Planet Earth. They are the main life-form on the planet, alongside animals but unlike animals, they play various important roles.

For a starter, they are the primary source of food for many animals such as cows, buffaloes, elephants and even Humans. Hence, in the complete food chain, Plants have a pivotal role, without which most of the world's animals might loose their source of food.

Apart from that, Plants provide shelter and home to millions of organisms such as insects, small reptiles, etc. A forest, and even a small roadside bush can houses thousands and millions of small ants and other life sources.

However, most importantly, Plants and trees provide us with Oxygen, the building-block of life on Plant Earth. Plants absorb carbon dioxide and sunlight from animals and the sun and give back oxygen, which proves animals and plants rely on one another for co-existence.

Plants are regulaters of life on this earth without which life is impossible. They keep ecological balance by providing oxygen to living organisms and absorb carbon dioxide released by them. Oxygen is also necessary for fire which provides us heat and food. Plants also a big source of shelter for many organisms and important part of food chains within an ecosystem. They give us wood for burning and other uses.
