What role does diaphragm and rib muscles play in breathing

When diaphragm goes down, the lungs expand. Rib muscles help the lungs to expand even more. This creates low pressure in the lungs, so air goes into our lungs. When the diaphragm goes up and the rib muscles contract, air goes out of our lungs.
